浙江工业大学是一所以工为主，兼有文、理、法、经济、医药、管理、教育等多科性省属重点大学，拥有国家重点实验室培育基地、博士后流动站、博士、硕士学位和MBA授予权、工程硕士专业学位授予权、硕士研究生免试推荐权和外国留学生、港澳台学生招生权。学校现有三个校区，共占地面积3200余亩。学校设有二十一个学院两个部，2个博士后流动站，14个博士学位授权点、71个硕士学位授权点、58个本科专业，在校普通全日制本专科学生2万8千余人，研究生3000余人，成人教育学生2万余人，外国留学生200余人。学校教职工3000余人，其中教授、副教授等高级职称教师800余人，中国工程院院士1名。
    国际学院是浙江工业大学21个学院之一，是以中外合作办学和外国留学生教育为主要任务的教学单位。学院承担浙江工业大学与澳大利亚University of Tasmania（国务院学位办[2003]60号）、浙江工业大学与澳大利亚Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE（浙教外[2004]22号）等中外合作办学项目，同时承担浙江工业大学外国留学生招生、教学和管理工作。现有中外专家、教师及管理人员50余人。学院以浙江工业大学为依托，努力引进国外优质教育资源，围绕五个“IC”的办学特色，即国际意识（International Concept）、国际文化（International Culture）、国际交往（International Communication）、国际合作（International Cooperation）和国际文凭（International Certificate），使中外办学思想、教学内容、管理模式得到充分交融。
    学院对国内学生开设计算机科学与技术、国际贸易、工商管理等与国际接轨的专业，旨在培养符合当今社会经济发展和科技进步的外语好、知识新、技能强的国际化应用型人才。学院在组织教学的过程中，引进国外教学的先进理念和体系，强调以人为本，注重知识与技能、人文与科学的结合，重视素质教育和个性培养。教学计划由中外合作双方共同制定，强化英语教育，融英语、商务、计算机技术为一体，三分之一的专业课程由外籍资深教师执教，为培养外向型、复合型和应用型高级人才、为学生的出国留学深造提供了良好的学习条件。
    学院对外国留学生提供汉语言文化培训，实施学位教育，并提供良好的生活指导和服务。
    国际学院滨江学区座落在钱塘江畔的滨江高教园。优美的教学环境、良好的教学设施、国际化的教学氛围，为学生创造了得天独厚的学习环境。学区毗邻杭州市高新开发区（国家级软件园区），置身于中国高新科技商务发展的前沿，紧跟知识经济浪潮，紧跟最新商务信息，为构建产、学、研结合的教学模式，培养具有创新能力的高素质人才，创造了良好的条件。
    国际学院滨江学区聘请了美国、英国、加拿大、澳大利亚等国的外籍教师，专设“元光德英语校园基金”，以推动“英语校园”建设，并通过推行“口语工程”等一系列的活动来提高学生的英语水平，为学生走出国门、就业深造创造良好的条件，使之成为学区的办学特色。

Zhejiang University of Technology is a leading institution of higher education in Zhejiang Province. Although originally committed to excellence in the field of engineering, the university now offers excellent programs in the humanities, Natural Science, Law, Economics, Industrial & Commercial Management, Arts, Education, and Pharmacology. The university is entitled to confer Ph.D., Master, and Bachelor Degrees, to recommend postgraduates free from examination, and to enroll foreign students, as well as those from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. The university is home to 21Colleges and two departments, and offers 2 post doctoral program, 14 doctoral programs, 71 postgraduate programs, and 58 undergraduate specialties.

The university currently has approximately 30,000 full-time undergraduate and diploma students, 2,300 postgraduates, and over 200 international students. It now has three campuses, which cover a total area of nearly 215 Hectares, with over 840,000 square meters of floor space. ZUT has 3,000 members of staff, among whom 800 are professors and associate professors. One is a member of the Chinese Academy of Science and Chinese Academy of Engineering.

The International College is one of the 21 colleges of Zhejiang University of Technology. The main task of the International College is to maintain cooperative educational and research links with foreign Universities. These links include ZUT & University of Tasmania (Australia) (No. [2003]60 Academic Degree Office of State Department), ZUT & Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE (Australia) (No. [2004]22 Foreign Affairs Dept. Zhejiang Educational Committee).The college is also responsible for the enrolment, teaching and management of international students at Zhejiang University of Technology. It has a faculty of 50 that includes both national and international experts, teachers, coordinators and chief managers.

The International College offers such internationally popular subjects such as Computing, International Trade, Business Administration, English, and Computer Information Management.

The target of the college is to create truly international graduates who enjoy the foreign language and business skills needed to meet the development of society and the economy, and to keep pace with the progress of science and technology. The college has introduced advanced foreign teaching ideas and systems, paying special attention to the marriage of knowledge and skills. The curriculum is designed by both Chinese and foreign teachers in strengthening English-language teaching and combining English-language skills with business and computer skills. More than one third of the specialized courses are hosted by foreign senior teachers with internationally-recognized qualifications. The college also facilitates opportunities for those students who wish to go abroad for further study.

The Binjiang Campus of the International College is located in Binjiang Higher Education Park, close to the banks of the Qiantangjiang River. With its first-rate teaching facilities and picturesque surroundings, the campus is an ideal place for internationalized teaching and learning. The campus is adjacent to Hangzhou Hi-tech Development Zone (the National Software Garden), which is known as ‘the front line’ of Chinese high technology. These are ideal conditions in which to combine teaching, study, and research, and to invest students with the spirit of innovation.

Bingjiang Campus is building up English Campus and employing some foreign teachers from USA, UK, Canada and Australia. Students’ English level is advanced by the campus’ Spoken Language Project, which gains financial support from the “Yougot English Campus Fund”. This fund, and the good work it facilitates, has become distinct features of work and study at the college.
